Helping Hands was so blessed to have different teams from Logos Hope spend time doing volunteer work for us and the community where we operate for a week.
We started off with a team coming on May 7 to build a jungle gym at the Helping Hands premises for our children. Together with volunteers from River Church International Mtubatuba and Missions4KZN, the Logos Hope team worked hard all day mixing cement, digging holes, putting up poles and drilling holes to build the structure.
This was followed by a health, hygiene and dental training and check up day at the Lighthouse Church for the community with the Logos Hope team and Helping Hands on May 10. People from the community were able to avail of free dental check-ups and given important information and training on issues affecting people’s health.
On May 14, the children of Helping Hands had the opportunity to visit the Logos Hope ship docked at Richard’s Bay. It was a day filled with fun activities including a tour of the ship and some browsing time at the book shop.
To end the week, another team from Logos Hope set up a library at the Lighthouse Church near the Helping Hands home on May 15. They donated books and other reading materials to the library which will be for the use of the community.
Apart from time spent by the different Logos Hope teams with Helping Hands, we also received water purification buckets and a water pump for the home.
It was indeed a great privilege for Helping Hands to be the beneficiary of all these blessings from Logos Hope.
