Little children, sweet and lovely
Buds from Heaven sent to earth!
Let us love them, teach them, guide them
Fill their lives with joy and mirth…
Looking up with eyes of laughter,
Holding out their tiny hands;
Bless these little ones, oh, Master!
Precious children of all lands!
~Gertrude Tooley Buckingham, “Little Children” (1940s)
Building Project At Helping Hands: An Update
The building of the new dormitory and kitchen extension at the Helping Hands premises has been progressing well. The project started with the laying of building foundations in February followed by laying of brick foundations in March of this year. The third phase was done this month with the completion of the floor slabs.
Volunteers from the Destiny Team @ NCF Church in Pietermaritzburg and from River Church International, Mtubatuba, led by Martin and Jeanette Harder (who also manage Missions4KZN) have worked very hard to make the three phases of the project a success.
The next phase of the building project will happen in July, when volunteers from the Netherlands through Missions4KZN will come to work on the main building structure.
We would like to extend our gratitude to all those who have spent their time and resources to make this project possible.
To date, we have 9 children being sponsored in our Sponsor-A-Child program. This program provides willing individuals or organisations an opportunity to help a child through a monthly donation of R250, which goes toward the child’s educational needs.
The children of Helping Hands, especially the smaller children aged 5-12 years old, are in need of warm clothes and shoes, plastic storage containers for the children’s personal belongings, towels and mattress protectors. If you have any of these items, whether new or used, that you are willing to donate to Helping Hands, kindly contact us at 035 5501347 or email us at email@example.com.
We thank you in advance for your generosity.
Upcoming Event: Building Project- Next Phase
